Anchorage moves USAT cross-chain on LayerZero's token standard
Anchorage Digital has adopted LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token standard for moving supported stablecoins between networks, with Tether's USAT as the first live integration: https://www.newsbtc.com/altcoins/anchorage-digital-taps-layerzero-to-take-usat-stablecoin-cross-chain/.
USAT is issued through Anchorage Digital Bank, and the report notes LayerZero's infrastructure reaches more than 170 networks. Other Anchorage-issued stablecoins - Western Union's USDPT and OSL's USDGO - are described as expected to join later. The report is careful that the 170-network figure describes LayerZero's connectivity, not the reach of any one token today.

What it means
The design question underneath is what a dollar on another chain actually is. The bridged-and- wrapped pattern creates a claim on a custodian of a claim, adding operational and security assumptions at every hop. A standard that lets the issuer manage one supply across chains removes a layer of indirection - and concentrates the remaining trust in the issuer, which for a bank-issued token is arguably where a regulator would want it.
"First live integration" is the phrase doing the work. One token live and two expected is a pilot, and the interesting number will be how long the second takes: sequencing tells you whether the hard part was the standard or the compliance around each individual issuer.
