Solana Foundation's September report: tokenised stocks, stablecoins, TxV1
The Solana Foundation published its September 2026 ecosystem roundup on 6 October. It is the network's own promotional summary, so its figures are the Foundation's and should be read that way; a few items in it are independently checkable events.
The checkable events.
- SEC exemption, 17 September. The roundup cites a five-year conditional exemption from the US Securities and Exchange Commission for qualifying activity in tokenised National Market System stocks, which lets such tokens trade on public, permissionless networks without the venue registering as an exchange. Conditions cover trading limits, equivalent shareholder rights and coordination with the underlying stock's primary exchange.
- Transaction V1 on mainnet. The Foundation says Transaction V1 was activated alongside reduced account-rent requirements and a 250-millisecond target slot time; V1 lets a transaction carry more data, including larger program-deployment writes.
- Alpenglow on devnet since 25 September, opening the new consensus protocol to developer and validator testing before mainnet.
- OUSD, a dollar stablecoin issued by Bridge, went live natively on Solana on 30 September using Token-2022, with mint and redemption at 1:1 without fees and reserves at BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY.

The Foundation's numbers for September. Stablecoin supply on Solana at a record $17.51 billion; DEX volume $78.33 billion, up 20% from August; 3.18 billion non-vote transactions, with Q3 at 8.78 billion, up 23.3% on Q2; tokenised-stock trading volume of about $4.4 billion, supply of $684 million and one million cumulative tokenised-stock holder wallets; stablecoin loan volume of $37.51 billion, which it puts at 81.7% of the total across chains; and 23.2 million x402 agent-payment transactions between 22 August and 19 September.
Payments and banks. The roundup lists Column integrating stablecoins into its banking core alongside ACH, wires and SWIFT; proofs of concept by South Korea's Jeonbuk Bank and Shinhan Bank; and Solana Payment Channels supporting x402 and the Machine Payments Protocol, where an agent pays repeatedly off-chain against a limit and settles on-chain — benchmarked, by the Foundation, at one million off-chain payments per second across 100,000 wallets.
How to use it. The protocol changes — Transaction V1, the slot target, Alpenglow's path to mainnet — matter for developers and validators directly. The market figures are a snapshot from an interested party; anyone citing them should cross-check against an independent data source before treating them as measured.
