VanEck asks the SEC to let it withdraw its Lido Staked Ethereum ETF registration

VanEck Digital Assets, LLC filed a Form RW with the US Securities and Exchange Commission dated 14 October 2026, asking the agency to consent to the withdrawal of the registration statement for the VanEck Lido Staked Ethereum ETF.

What is being withdrawn. The request covers the trust's Form S-1 (file no. 333-290918), first filed on 16 October 2025 and amended since, together with all exhibits. VanEck asks for the withdrawal to take effect on the date of the letter or as soon as practicable after it. The filing relies on Rule 477 under the Securities Act of 1933.

The stated reason. The sponsor gives a single ground: it does not intend to proceed with the planned distribution of the trust's shares. The letter gives no further explanation of the decision.

What it confirms. VanEck states that the registration statement was never declared effective, that no securities have been or will be issued or sold under it, and that no preliminary prospectus from it was distributed. The letter is signed by vice president Matthew A. Babinsky and names two Sidley Austin LLP lawyers as contacts for questions.

The proposed fund was designed around Lido's staked ether; with the withdrawal, VanEck's application for it ends without the product ever reaching the market.
